Does anybody have Dobrzynski's Op. 23 by any chance?

"4 Mazures, 3 Valses et 2 Galoppes" (pub. 1836, Hofmeister)"

Cant be found on IMSLP and I have tried searching various polish websites for manuscripts but I am having trouble!

There are quite a few posted on this forum already (use the Search ^^^ with some spelling variants if needed). It's better to be specific about your requests i.e. which pieces you're looking for. Henri Kowalski is French (with Polish father).

I have a somewhat interesting composer here for anybody who's a fan of Chopin. For anybody familiar with Chopin's Nocturnes you will notice his style changes dramatically with the Op. 55 No. 2 onwards, the Ostinato becomes a lot more complex and less repetative, the Nocturnes take on an almost caotic fantasie form with lots of chromatic modulation. I think most would attribute this to Chopin's style devloping near the end of his life, but I recently discovered a Nocturne that sounds a lot like Chopin's late nocturnes:

Im inclined to believe Zaliski may have left an impression on Chopin, not the other way around, mainly because the style found here extends beyond just the nocturnes and is fairly uncharacteristic of Chopin when you look at his other works.


But there seems to be very little if any info on this composer. Curious is anybody else has any other scores.

Karol Bernard Zaluski (1834-1919) is 24 years younger than Chopin (1810-1849) and seems unlikely to have influenced him.

Yeah I noticed that too before posting, so he would have been a teenager around when Chopin died. They did have some relationship but there is not much detail on him. I do find it interesting though that he sounds a lot like Chopin's later works, which is somewhat atypical when you look at Chopin;s other pupils.

It could well also be there is another influenzer that simultaneously influenced Chopin and Karol Bernard Zal.

Some more research needs to be done into the great Influenzer outbreak of the early 1800s, it's an interesting Field of study.
