I met Raymond and various members of his family at the Wigmore Hall many years ago - they were regular visitors and I am sure I house managed a few of his concerts.

Very gifted composer. Most approachable are the beautiful, sensuous and rapturous songs he wrote for his wife Lorraine Hunt.

Leicester's Goldsmith Music Library (1930's-2010).

Sadly, the score section this once excellent library has been
reduced to 4 shelves of music tucked away in a corner
of the new 'improved' Main Library. They've got rid of all
their rare and interesting scores and books on music.

Why? Because they weren't used much. Well, the accountants,
who know the short-term cost of everything and the long-term
value of nothing, have now made damned sure that future
generations won't benefit from these treasures whatsoever!

(Looks like I'll now have to use Nottingham Music Library instead,
until such time as the accountants decide to kill that as well.)
