Re: Alfor's Rarities
Tony, you are quite right! A lot of Antipov's music is much like post-Schumann in it's romantic content. I love his Romance Op.5 No.1 which I'd vote for as his best piece. His music is highly variable in quality and seems to end with his Op.13 as his naval career was of greater interest to him.lutoslawski wrote:Thanks for the antipov!

Re: Alfor's Rarities
Alfor, would it be possible for you to provide a little bit of information about alexander shenshin?
I was playing today the preludes op.3 . And i find them very dark (i love dark music!). I like specially no.6 and 7.
Anything, about his studies or career?

Joseph WIENIAWSKI
Deux Morceaux de Concert:
Barcarolle-Caprice op. 9
Romance-Etude op. 10 alfor quality 600dpi scans.
Post-Chopin virtuoso pieces (op. 10 with Schumann influence).
In both pieces the composer soon is loosing interest in musical development but instead
displays his virtuosity in octaves (op. 9) resp. figurative work (op.10).
Nevertheless these are fun to play, if you are equipped with the necessary technique.

Speaking of Atterberg, there is an absolutely brilliant recording of his Piano Concerto on YouTube.rob wrote:Tony:

Re: Alfor's Rarities
Fun to play indeed, Alfor. No,not much formal development in pieces like a sonata as they are display pieces. Still you have to ask yourself if is it worth all the technical work needed to perform well such pieces without there being worthwhile content.........But still fun to play!alfor wrote:Joseph WIENIAWSKI
