Joseph Jongen & The Belgian Organ Composers
What does anyone think of the organ works of Joseph Jongen? I know a quite a lot of his other music, but only a bit of his organ oeuvre.

I love his Sonata Eroica (a difficult work to perform!).minacciosa wrote:What does anyone think of the organ works of Joseph Jongen? I know a quite a lot of his other music, but only a bit of his organ oeuvre.
I used to attempt a short piece by Jongen called 'Chant de Mai' and, other than the composer's fantastic Symphonie Concertante for organ and orchestra, only know one other piece by him for organ, his quite famous Toccata (in D major?).
A complete survey of Jongen's organ music was released on disc by perhaps his most ardent current champion, John Scott Whiteley...
