I brought them at the BookBarn In Hallatrow in the West country on the Wells Road (it's very disorganised). The Bookbarn used to have five warehouse stores but now it just has one for the public and sells some books online.rob wrote:
Lucky boy - and just where is this wonderful emporium?I have hard copies of all four works, and each, many years ago, cost me about the same as you paid for all of them. William Mathias taught one of my music teachers at school...
Currently all on shelf books are £1 each. It has quite alot of sheet music although not many rarities except possibly single sheets and songs. But they had a warehouse in Bristol that suddenly closed and the public were allowed to take any of the stock.
I brought the concertos because they were so cheap and I have downloaded so much good romantic music online that I thought I'd best do my bit and put some more music online. And I was concerned that the shop might suddenly close like the last ones and swallow them up.
I have brought alot of my sheet music from the basement of the Amnesty international bookshop in Bristol where I found Stradals Bach Brandenburg concerto 2. I scanned it and posted it on the last forum but have lost the original scan after my computer crashed. The Oxfam bookshops in Bristol are a good source also.
I have started buying music on the basis that it might be rare rather than personal taste because internet scans are a wonderful resource for sheet music addicts like me.
My main passions are baroque music and playing romantic piano
