A number of the works have been transcribed on Musescore, so you can get an inauthentic version by changing the instrument from organ to harpsichord. e.g. Voluntary VII https://musescore.com/user/14316/scores/26275Timtin wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2024 12:41 pm Having recently got very interested in John Stanley's Organ Voluntaries Opp.5, 6 & 7, I'd really like to hear them recorded, but being played on the harpsichord. Originally, it seems that they were intended for either instrument, but I'm really struggling to find any recordings in that form. Maybe having 'Organ' in the works' titles is part of the problem. If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated, thank you.

Re: Music from the British Isles
Thank you Jean-Seb and bingo for your replies. Maybe there's a gap in the CD recording market for a harpsichordist to fill with these Voluntaries!

Re: Music from the British Isles
Could anyone upload the first edition of John Field's Second Nocturne or the manuscrit ( in C minor) ? I have seen some differences between editions...
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Music from the British Isles
There's a reference to this in the notes on IMSLP (at the bottom of the page): "First published in 1814 in two versions: as No.2 of Three Nocturnes, as of No.3 of Three Romances. The beautiful decorative passages occupying bars 40-48 appeared in the Romance but not the Nocturne, where it was replaced with a simple restatement of the theme."kapsweiss2017 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 9:55 am Could anyone upload the first edition of John Field's Second Nocturne or the manuscrit ( in C minor) ?
