Re: Brahms mombeek "madchenlied"
If I remember right all the Brahms songs were transcribed for solo piano by Robert Keller, and published by Simrock. They were in 3 volumes. One worth trying to hunt down.margarethaverhard wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 3:15 pm The transcriber gave me this score, free to distribute... found the first page on a facebook channel. Keller was a prolific arranger. Some of the Brahms lieder are listed under his IMSLP arranger page: https://imslp.org/wiki/Category:Keller,_Robert/Arranger

Re: Piano Transcriptions for two hands
Pachelbel's Chaconne in D minor P.41, transcribed by Jascha Horenstein. For some weird reason it's named 'Passacaglia'.
(Scan by Makoto Natsui, the Japanese doctor/physician, who used to offer a lot of rare piano scores in the early 2000s for download).

Thank you. IMSLP has the transcription by Stradal.
What is the difference between a chaconne and a passacaille ?

Re: Piano Transcriptions for two hands
History and different courtly traditions has blurred the two terms but at times the chaconne was more associated with a dance for women, and the passacaglia, for men.

Re: Piano Transcriptions for two hands
Does anyone have a piano transcription of Song of the Birds as frequently played by Pablo Casals and more recently by Yo Yo Ma? Thanks!
For those of you who can read NY Times articles, here's an article about Ma playing the piece as an encore after a very recent concerto performance.

It's a Catalan Christmas Carol and you can find many arrangements online under its traditional title El cant dels ocells e.g.lebowl wrote: ↑Thu Mar 02, 2023 4:11 pm Does anyone have a piano transcription of Song of the Birds as frequently played by Pablo Casals and more recently by Yo Yo Ma?
