Re: Russian & Soviet Composers - Part 3
Does anyone know any piano solo compositions by Milan Dvorak other than his two books of jazz etude?

Thanks for all the links. Do you know if he composed any sonatas, fantasies, or any other non-miniature pieces for solo piano?bingo wrote: ↑Thu Mar 03, 2022 10:59 pmMilan Dvorak is Czech not Russian/Soviet and still busy at the piano:tonylucuchu wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 9:28 pm Does anyone know any piano solo compositions by Milan Dvorak other than his two books of jazz etude?

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows any piano solo composition by Lubos Fiser other than his sonatas and Dreams and Waltz? Thanks.

Strangely the sonatas and Dreams & Waltzes seem to be the extent of his piano solo works (beyond the concertos).......I have never come across any other published work for piano.tonylucuchu wrote: ↑Sat Mar 05, 2022 6:52 pm Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows any piano solo composition by Lubos Fiser other than his sonatas and Dreams and Waltz? Yes, but unsure of copyright.tonylucuchu wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 9:28 pm Does anyone know any piano solo compositions by Milan Dvorak other than his two books of jazz etude?
Yes, he would be strictly under copyright as still alive. However, my own searches have not shown any other works in the category you are asking. Malcolm

The Czechs are generally pretty good at keeping their musical heritage in print. Whenever I've requested recordings or music I've usually been quickly cross-referred between stores and library resources. The Czech Radio Publishing House is the group that MD has worked with: https://www.czech.radio/node/8034108tracyross wrote: ↑Sat Mar 12, 2022 2:48 pmYes, but unsure of copyright.tonylucuchu wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 9:28 pm Does anyone know any piano solo compositions by Milan Dvorak other than his two books of jazz etude?

PS Malcolm: perhaps these recent posts could be moved into the Czech thread? Duly done.

Re: Czech & Slovak Composers
I think the organ was more his instrument after the 1960s, plus he was pretty busy churning out film and theatre scores (over 300!). His obituary has a lot of information: https://www.theguardian.com/news/1999/s ... obituariesmballan wrote: ↑Fri Mar 11, 2022 9:09 amStrangely the sonatas and Dreams & Waltzes seem to be the extent of his piano solo works (beyond the concertos).......I have never come across any other published work for piano.tonylucuchu wrote: ↑Sat Mar 05, 2022 6:52 pm Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows any piano solo composition by Lubos Fiser other than his sonatas and Dreams and Waltz? Re: Czech & Slovak Composers
Hi all,
Any Paul Wranitzky piano works? (especially his piano sonatas, op.22).
I'm curious about this composer. Just heard his oboe concerto on the radio and liked it!
Thanks.
