Chopin "nocturne oubliée"?
Hello... Can anyone tell me whether this piece is considered spurious, or acknowledged as a genuine Chopin composition?

Thanks!

Spurious. The notes in Stephen Hough's recent Nocturnes recording which does include this work state "definitely not by Chopin" although published in Russia in his name.pcovitz1968 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 23, 2021 6:43 pm Hello... Re: Polish Composers
Two more corkers from Giedymin Rodkiewicz (1834-1891) from the Polish National Library
I've cleaned them up and made them monochrome: The Polka has been crammed onto the page, with a number of late-additions of clefs, and a few omissions ....
THe Mazurka has a note-value error in the 4th-last measure. Listen: https://musescore.com/artist/giedymin_rodkiewicz-344147

Re: Polish Composers
Some more cleaned up scores from the library
Some scores suffer a problem of reduced readability due to cramming too many measures into a line (plus frequent misspellings of his name). This reset should help:
