The Faulty Score Thread - Lacking Pages etc.

In the old forum, this topic had been placed in the piano music discussion. That might have been illogical, for lacking pages are a phenomenon in any genre. So I thought: to ask for help is a typical kind of looking for support.

You'll find my first entry in the "Music from Mexico" topic: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=113&start=50#p2537 not to be repeated here. A little preview:

Bk4 pages 47-49 are fingering exercises for chromatic movement
Bk5 page 31 is a blank page for ease of page turning , 32 is a preface to etude no.45 and 33 is an article on the use of the pedal. I will scan.

It's very common in computer manuals (IBM & Microsoft especially) to see printed on an otherwise blank page:
"This page left intentionally blank."
I've always thought it hilarious.
I suppose such notices should be reworded:
"This page would have been blank had it not been for our notice informing readers of our intention to leave this page blank, which of course it now isn't!"

Thank you HHH and Rob. Having now looked at these missing pages,
they should definitely have been included in the original files, not
just for page numbering continuity, but also because they actually
contain useful information.

Regarding the inherent contradiction in saying that a page has been
left intentionally blank, 'Stick no bills' on otherwise empty advertising
spaces is a very closely related thing.

How do you know Bill's married?
This talk of nothingness begs a couple of other questions:-
Why bother with rests after the last chord in any piece of music?
Polo - the mint with the hole, according to the ad. Why advertise nothing?
Such mysteries keep me awake at night!

It gets worse. For many years the sign on a wall on the way from Redfern station to Sydney University omitted the 'u'.

We once published a piece where one of the pages said "this page has been unintentionally left blank"
