Re: Piano Transcriptions for two hands
Hi Timtin:
Thank you for the Mozart Rondo transcription, it is great; I have played the Menuetto, but I will continue later.
Congrats.

Re: Piano Transcriptions for two hands
Thank you Ilu. It took me 3 weeks to produce. Incredibly, WAM was
still a teenager when he wrote his 5 violin concertos, and this movt.
probably took him about 3 hours!
Please note that I've made a minor revision on page 8, to add one
harmony. See my last message.

As the vernal equinox occurred this week for Pianovillains
in the northern hemisphere, I thought that this might be an
appropriate piece to produce.

Re: Piano Transcriptions for two hands
This is music to die for! I believe that Stark did a 2h piano version
in the 19th. century, however his wasn't entirely faithful to WAM's
original harmonies. For example, the serene A flat major chord in
measure 67 was changed to C minor.
In my (very biassed) opinion, this work is on a par with much more
famous funeral music by Beethoven and Chopin. Its Picardy third
ending feels like that moment when the soul rises up to heaven,
if that doesn't sound too fanciful.

Here's a new version of WAM's G major Gigue, with a few modifications.
For example, the time signature has been mucked about with.

Re: Piano Transcriptions for two hands
Dear Timtin:
Thanks for the excellent transcription, it is one of so many samples of his genius, a return to the baroque (J. S. Bach) very pleasant and with great inventiveness.
