I have been thinking about this,
(A) is it a good idea to have a recital strictly on transcription of (for example) Carmen.... or one specific theme.
(B) is it a good idea to have a recital strictly on variation on Paganini theme ?
(c) is it a good idea to have a recital on all polonaise, or waltz or nocturne?
I have been thinking about tarantella, Chopin and Liszt had composition on tarantella, which other composers had written tarantella? I vaguely remember one of the Bach had one...

Re: Recital programming idea
Do the learned community consider Beethoven Op 31/3 Eb major last movement a Tarantella as well?
Am i the only person who keeps thinking Franz Schubert - Piano Sonata D. 958 was very much influenced by Beethoven.

There are tons of tarentellas :

Such programs are good for records but tend to be boring in recitals. More variety is usually wished by the audience, I believe.
