You are always referring to a certain Mr. S. Feinberg. I assume it is your (great-)grandfather or your (great-)uncle??!Emil Borisovich Sernov wrote:Thank you for these Goldenveizer Pieces, dear Malcolm!

More likely his great inspirational teacher and mentor, Feinberg was one of the greatest teachers of piano.alfor wrote:You are always referring to a certain Mr. S. Feinberg. BTW we (non-russian-speaking!) Germans had the privilege to get access to some writings by FEINBERG, Oborin a.o. by a (now deleted) book* published in the GDR (as far as I remember I could aquire a copy when visiting East-Berlin).

Yes, English is nice for us non-Russian, non-German speakers. Sure! That'll work
Thanks for the Amazon reference, Alfred.

Re: Goldenveizer
Just to keep the forum informed.....
i visited China recently.... and discovered two new publications (not quite new, 2015)
China had an authorized version of Goldenveizen's edition for Mozart Sonata. Honestly, i dont think it is good, no where near his Beethoven sonata. However, there is an article as preface, Saint-Saen commentary of Mozart's sonata.
There is a book (a master or phD thesis) on Goldenveiser's polyphonic etudes.... the score is attached as appendix..... unfortunately, i did not get the book (written in Chinese) because the condition of the book is poor. I will be making another trip to China in 2 months time, and i will try to see if i can find a better copy at Beijing or Shanghai.

I guess it is just a reprint of Saint-Saëns's preface in the Durand edition of Mozart's sonatas.soh choon wee wrote: However, there is an article as preface, Saint-Saen commentary of Mozart's sonata.
