Re: The Romantic Piano Concerto Thread
There has been interest on this piece on another forum, so in the hope of generating another recording, i hereby post my scan of the score.
A recording is on youtube and is well worth a listen. It is however rather morbid. Understandably so as it appears that Nikisch composed it on his deathbed.
Concertingly.

I have just heard the new release by Hyperion, of Hill & Boyle Romantic Piano Concerto Series. It includes a delightful piano sonata by Alfred Hill. Have just been in touch with Stiles publishing, to buy a print on demand copy.

Sadly, my e mails to Stiles Music Publishing for the Hill Sonata/Concerto, have all bounced back, domain unknown. I have enquired to New South Wales Library for an authorised copy. If anyone has any further info on the publisher/how to get in touch?

Strewth me old cobber, I have ordered many scores from the Australian Music Centre. The Hill is listed for loan, but in my experience, for a huge sum of money and a few beers, they will run you off a copy.

"Dear Mr Forkel,
Alfred Hill’s Sonata for Pianoforte is available. The price advertised on our website is 60.00 AUD plus shipping costs.
You may be interested to know that an excellent CD that includes this work played by Piers Lane has just been released by Hyperion.
I look forward to hearing from you again.
Regards,
Allan Stiles"

Re: The Romantic Piano Concerto Thread
Reviving an old request re information on the piano concerto by Anton/Antoine Simon, and as I have seen respected Pianophiliacs Malcolm and Thalbergmad know something of his works, can anyone offer updated information on his concertante works for piano and orchestra: concerto plus two other works apparently? Also, are there any further piano works available that aren't already at IMSLP?
Thanks
