The fourth of this composer's seven numbered quartets. His first two were published as miniature scores and shared earlier on this thread. I've not found evidence of the third quartet being in print.

Here's a quartet by a composer who studied under Shostakovich and, to me, is a composer known primarily as a prolific piano composer. I found it interesting that the bio at the beginning of this work points him out as having written six piano sonatas by 1972, but previous shares on this site show that he subsequently accelerated his output, publishing his 13th and 14th sonatas by just 1977.

Another early quartet of Golubev's, written for the Komitas String Quartet. There are a few missing notes on the last couple of pages, an unfortunate result of the score being bound together too tightly.

Here are three quartets by Ukrainian composer Dmitri Klebanov. He composed six during his career. All of these were gathered in one Ukraine-published volume. Regarding the sixth quartet, multiple copies of this volume were missing the exact same pages! Perhaps somebody can someday discover another edition and re-incorporate these gaps (as well as share the first three quartets, which I'm assuming were published in their own volume).

I'm wondering if anyone has (a) ever heard of and/or (b) seen and would be kind enough to post any of the string quartets by the essentially self-taught French critic, pianist and composer Léon Kreutzer (1817-1868)?

He wrote 8 quartets, each summarised in the book 'Nineteenth-Century Chamber Music', a tome edited by Stephen E. Hefling. (The descriptions are, incidentally, readable via Google books, pages 300-301 - see the link below.)

Hopefully the link works and someone might be able to find something. I think some of them are held in the library of the Liege(?) Conservatoire.

Kreutzer is described in the book as being one of the "two most aesthetically progressive musicians of the period", along with Edouard Lalo.

Morning all.

Some of you may have noticed that four of the above-mentioned quartets by Kreutzer have been uploaded to IMSLP.
I'm hoping to get these recorded for the composer's birth/death anniversaries in 2017-18.
Would be interested in the opinions of any quartet musicians here.
