Re: Busoniana
Hi,
Does anyone have the Chopin Polonaise op. 53 as edited by Busoni?
The British library seems to be the only record published by Schmidt in 1909.
Thanks.

Re: Busoniana
Here is Busoni's Danza Notturna, op. 13.
I didn't crop this as I thought it would take away from the whole look of the publication, especially the exquisite cover. Pity about the staining though.
A Conservatorio di Milano scan, prepared courtesy of a java downloader posted at IMSLP by user 'piupianissimo'.
Enjoy!

Re: Busoniana
Thank you. The Conservatory in Milan has a number of digital scores available.

Piano works :

But it is not clear hw you can download from there or whether you have to buy a digital copy as they suggest. The "download" button on the score does not seem to work.

This page at IMSLP should help answer any queries. Anything digitized doesn't have to be bought as far as I can see.Jean-Séb wrote: But it is not clear hw you can download from there or whether you have to buy a digital copy as they suggest. The "download" button on the score does not seem to work.

Re: Busoniana
I don't know if the IMSLP tool works for the Milan Conservatory scans, I doubt. Anyway the topic had been discussed many many times in the past. I spent a lot of time in 2007-2008 trying to convince the Conservatorio Library staff to think about a cheaper way of submitting digital scans to the public, even because until 2008 we usually had photocopies there for 0,05 euro per page. Their answer was to submit an incredible expensive tool for asking for the possibility of downloading scores from the site. That's all.

Yes, it does, very well. That's what I use for the Bache scores in another threads (plus some editing, of course).Caprotti wrote:I don't know if the IMSLP tool works for the Milan Conservatory scans, I doubt.

Re: Busoniana
Has anyone come across Busoni's early work, "Marcia di Paesani e Contadine", Op. 32/BV 193? After "Una festa di villagio" had been either printed or prepared to be printed, Busoni composed this march for the set. The publisher considered it too late to change the set, so the march was later printed separately. In the book Busoni and the Piano Larry Sitsky gives the piece a positive review (a rarity in his appraisal of Busoni's early works), noting how Busoni manages to create a sinister atmosphere from the dogged repetition of a phrase and of a C pedal with a motif that focuses on harmonies distant to the key.
