Re: Austrian Composers
The Salmhofer Sonata is yet another very nice piece. I found myself constantly being surprised at the harmony the composer used and now I'll be humming the theme from the first movement all afternoon!
Very welcome indeed, Alfred.

Re: Austrian Composers
Vorreiter gives us a nice traditional set of variations, maybe not leading the PROGRESSIVE bandwagon, but a nice effort in 19th century garb.
Very nice posting, Alfred.

Very nice posting, Alfred.
This guy lived from 1904 to 1984 (!) and was an expert for...
forest and wood management!!

Re: Austrian Composers
Thanks Alfor for the Vorreiter. Nice handwritings. Sounds traditional and pianistically traditional. Thus very playable.

To fleubis, my most faithful „follower“!
Some more Hugo REINHOLD,
The skilful music of this „Retro-Composer“
is always „angenehm in die Ohren“ - to speak with Mozart.
P.S. On Thu Apr 21, 2011 10:48 pm I posted vol. II alone.

Thank you for the REINHOLD, Alfred. A nice collection but of somewhat variable quality but they have livened up my Saturday here.
Nice posting!

Re: Austrian Composers
Following the recent request in the Bach - Hyphenated thread,
I also have a request, for either or both of the following:-
Zemlinsky 4 Balladen for piano (1892/3),
Zemlinsky Ein Lichtstrahl (A Ray of Light) for piano, 2nd. version (1902).
The latter is music for a pantomime involving a menage a trois.
If anyone can throw a ray of light on these two scores, I would,
of course, be most appreciative.
