Keith Jarrett Music

I'd be curious to know if many of you are currently playing Keith Jarrett's music as it seems that more and more his music is played by classical pianists in concerts
for example this recent concert

I've heard also that the Köln Concert is teached in some piano conservatories now.
I"ve been playing the Köln and some other pieces for a long time but I'm not sure that a rendition note by note is the best way to play his music and anyway I don't have a suffcient technique to do so for some parts. I'd be interested in impressions, suggestions, remarks ... of anyone who is playing his music as I really believe that some of his compositions or improvisations will remain in the classical repertoire.

There's something "not quite right" about playing transcriptions of improvised pieces, but I confess that I enjoy dabbling with them. For me, that category includes ragtime, stride and novelty piano, in addition to Keith Jarrett.

Many of the great composers had reputations as fantastic improvisers, but that seems to be uncommon for today's classical pianists. It's become rare to hear a pianist who will compose a cadenza for a concerto, much less improvise one during a concert! So in some ways, I think a good jazz pianist has more innate musicianship than many of today's classically trained pianists (creating vs reproducing).

But enough of that...

I've accumulated dozens of KJ transcriptions over the years. Most of the better quality ones are available for free at keithjarrett.org. But if there's something you're looking for, let me know and I'll share it if I have it.

By the way Bill I'm looking for the transcription of part 1 recorded by Vic Olsen
I know some transcriptions exist, you can see some pianists playing from a score on youtube but I didn't succeed to get it so far.
So if you have it I'll be very glad to get my eyes and my fingers on it

Not sure which transcription Vic is using - probably his own, at least in part. But I do have several transcriptions from Bregenz that might be of interest. Part 1 is handwritten and only covers the first half (the guy I've seen playing it on youtube also leaves it incomplete). The others are typeset and are complete.
