Re: Miniatury Fortepianowe PWM
Ah, yes, the Ritual Fire Dance, which I'm sure most of us have played at one time or another, and I bet added a few more notes to what's given in this well-edited PWM edition.
I must confess to scratching my head a bit on the Moniuszko-Melcer "przasniczka" (which apparently means "The Spinner"). It sure seems familiar and is a rather nice piece.
Much thanks for these, Alfred.

Yes, it is often transcribed under its French tile, La Fileuse. It is a piano arrangement of an original song by Moniuskofleubis wrote:I must confess to scratching my head a bit on the Moniuszko-Melcer "przasniczka" (which apparently means "The Spinner"). (where the French erroneous rendition is La Filatrice).
However, La Fileuse is also the title of another work by Melcer, from his own opera Marja, and whose score was also shared here by Alfor :

Re: Miniatury Fortepianowe PWM
Thanks to Jean-Sib for clarifying Moniuszko "La Fileuse" - Not being able to place such tunes is often quite frustrating.
And thanks to Alfred for the excellent PWM editions. I especially like the fingering substitution suggestions for "The Cat's Fugue" - something I've not seen very often. The delicious Liszt Consolation is just dripping with saccharin goodness and the D-flat bass note "mystery" clarified for one and all.
Wonderful PWM posts, Alfred.

Re: Miniatury Fortepianowe PWM
Surprise! PWM didn't give us an edition of Paderewski's Minuet....this little legend is much more interesting. Maciejewski's "Kolysanka" is a first entry in my library here for this composer. It seems PWM took care to promote some of Poland's local composers.
Very nice, Alfred.
