Thank you for the Adler links, 4candles. He does write well for the piano. Gallacia seems bound and determined to make us all blind with their super low-res scans. I get fewer headaches by printing out Gallacia scores to a size only 75% of normal.

The famous Rákóczi March as you never heard it before!

I guess Boldi was the Leader of a Gypsy Band resident in Paris (?)
in the first decades of the 20th century.

Boldi gives those players not up to Liszt a chance to learn this famous tune.
Thanks, Alfred.

Absolutely. Balogh Boldi was the most famous conductor/leader of the "orchestres tziganes" at that period, always dressed in red. A famous sung waltz of the time, Sourire d'Avril, by Depret, is dedicated to him.
Thank you for the score, Alfor.

This short Salon piece was apparently one of Boldi's greatest successes.
(It probably sounds much more impressive in the original Gypsy Band arrangement!)

Although I'm not a fan of this "um pah pah" waltzes, I find this tune rather catchy and can see what it was popular.

Thanks, Alfred, and thanks Jean-Séb for infos about the Man in Red.

Ernő Dohnányi (1877 – 1960) - again hopefully no introduction necessary. I could not see this work on IMSLP although no doubt a copy is bouncing around somewhere the internet on other sites, but did this scan for myself and decided to share.

Just when I thought I'd collected all the Dohnányi, Malc finds this nice Gavotte & Musette for us.

Thanks Malc.

Another couple of works by Ernő Dohnányi (1877 – 1960) - these do not currently appear on IMSLP or ScorSer.
