Re: Russian & Soviet Composers - Part 3
Can anyone help with some biographical information?
1. E. Aristakecyab (Armenian) - Fantastic Variations
2. T. Bakradze - Fantasy on an old Tiflis Theme
3. V. Kuprevich - Second Sonata
4. O. Grebenshcikov - Rhapsody on a Macedonian Theme
http://www.mediafire.com/?c14ner28tdnyd8c
score was quite old and brown with age, black and white was not working (especially in spots where print was faded)
Some really nice stuff in here!

Re: Russian & Soviet Composers - Part 3
Hi everyone
I just discovered the Russian State Library on line. They have a lot of Silvansky scores in their collection. Is there any way to obtain copies of these old Soviet scores? Does the library offer a copying service like the British Library has?
Or....does anyone out there have copies of the Silvansky Preludes books 1 and 2? Or Silvansky Etudes? Etc.
I have had a lot of success with the Silvansky Snowstorm and Raging Torrent. Can anyone recommend other Silvansky pieces that are similar is scope and technical demands? (The Sonata and Toccata are posted here at Pianophilia.)
Many thanks!

I don't mean to bear bad news, but Alfor already shared this volume a while back. See the following link:

That said, here are those bios:

Re: Russian & Soviet Composers - Part 3
Sincere apologies, I was pressed for time to scan and did not first check to see if it was made available prior to checking it out from the library. Will be more careful next time.caostotale wrote:Hey,Scriabinoff wrote:Can anyone help with some biographical information?

No need to apologize. It's a great scan. I'm just empathizing as someone who knows how long it takes to scan such volumes

PROKOPFJEFF (as we call him in Germany...
)
Piano Pieces op. 12
edited by Martin Frey
alfor scan:
This opus could never really compete with the neighbouring opera 11, 14, 17, 22.
(I am sure, though, that the Mazurka will become a favourite piece of Ferruccio! )

Thanks for another Martin Frey edition. I've always loved the Légende from that set--time for a revisit.alfor wrote:PROKOPFJEFF (as we call him in Germany...)

Lovely, Alfred, having that nice Frey edition of Op.12...judiciously applied fingers where needed, as in the Mazurka, etc., and in a hires scan which shows up beautifully clear on my monitor.
