Re: The German "Lied"
This Music is very welcome
I recently read the Biography "Clara Schumann, Klavier Ein Lebensbuch" - Dieter Kühn
Both women lived at the same time period, had several kids they had to support after her husbands died
and lived quite close - Bonn and Düsseldorf.
Dieter Kühn claimed that Kinkels compositions are superiour to the ones from Clara Schumann.
But perhaps not because she could not do better, rather than she was much interested to be a pianist
than a composer.
At least I can judge myself now.
Big thanks for these KInkels !!

Re: The German "Lied"
The most famous work of Johanna Kinkel is the part song Ritters Abschied, probably better known under it's English titel Soldier's Farewell.
Here you find a collection of books by or about Johanna and Gottfried Kinkel.
Please note: All books are in Public Domain and all books are in German. One (Dä hond ...) is written in the local dialect of Bonn, so called "Bönnsch".
