Was tempted to put this in the Etude thread but having seen Parag's information on Paul Lacombe (1837-1927) thought it should be posted here to compliment that posting. I have no idea what opus this work may be associated with.

Speaking of Pierne, there is another - Paul Pierne, whom I believe wrote in a neo-baroque/classical style. I think I have random pieces of his here and there.

Paul Dupin - pseudonym for Louis Lothar (1865-1949). Initally was head of a factory and then a bookkeeper in Paris before turning to music as a profession. In 1912, studied with Durand but otherwise self taught as a composer. Displayed great originality in his works which numbered about 220 opuses and include, Opera "Marcelle", an oratorio, orchestral works, 500 canons for 3 to 12 voices, songs, chamber music, violin pieces and piano works [sonata, sonatina, Esquisses fuguees, Dentelles, duets].
I have posted the piano sonata, which was one of his major piano works and personally I think is quite an interesting piece. Malcolm
