Re: Piano Etudes
Thank you. Never heard of that composer, who has a few compositions of his on IMSLP.
Of course, his father, an organist, was a big fan of Bach !

Re: Piano Etudes
Scriabinoff - puzzled, Levitzky only wrte a handful of works, and definitely didn't go up to Op 63 (only went up to Op 8 or so, plus a couple of non-opus works). No etudes ever listed to my knowledge.Scriabinoff wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2019 1:50 pm Request

Re: Piano Etudes
Hi Scriabinoff - the op 63 is by Friedman - this CD from Toccata included all of Levitzky's piano music, plus works by Friedman and Gabrilowich. The opus 63 etudes are by Friedman and are all available through IMSLP.Scriabinoff wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2019 4:55 pmHi Malcolm you and me both then I was listening to the complete solo works and boom there was thismballan wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2019 4:35 pmScriabinoff - puzzled, Levitzky only wrte a handful of works, and definitely didn't go up to Op 63 (only went up to Op 8 or so, plus a couple of non-opus works). Went to London in 1845 with the singer Pischek and decided to settle in England. From 1886-1904 was professor at the Royal Academy of Music. Further details can be found on Wikipedia.
