kamator wrote:I can offer a simple explanation:

Suppose it is written in Russian: -Transkriptzija A. Vedernikova-. Then it cooresponds in English to
-Transcription by A. Vedernikov-.
The accusative case of "Vedernikov" is "Vedernikova" - that is why "-a" pops up.
The absence of cases in English makes it sometimes difficult to recognize what is going on.
I hope I was clear.
best, kamator
A perfect explanation, thank you!
I stupidly thought the addition of an 'a' indicated a female name and didn't consider the case.

Regards, Timtina.

Hi Alfor,

I've been enjoying your postings of Moniuszko-Melcer and I was hoping to find a few more and please excuse me if you have already posted them. Do you have one sometimes translated as Dangerous or Awesome Girl ? or, in Polish, Groźna dziewczyna? Thanks for all that you do!

alfor wrote:First of all let me say, that I appreciate "normal" good quality printed and bound scores and would wish every score being (at reasonable prices) available in this "old-fashioned" form. But as this - for several reasons, which need not to be discussed - is not so with literally hundreds or thousands of interesting scores, I accept the "electronic score" as a complementary form of sheet music.

So sharing rare, deleted (piano) scores is one, if not the most important - or most wanted - feature of pianophilia.

It is useless to discuss the reasons why a lot of good music is buried in libraries - or only to find in antiquarian shops. - And when I say "good music" I mean music I would wish to be performed in public.

So I try to post scores, which are not only rare, but IMHO of a certain musical value.

Dear Alfor, I understand you very well now if you occasionally feel a lack of understanding, silence or indifference concerning your
"philantropic" activity. I can only write for myself but I am sure that this feeling is shared by a silent crowd:
What you do is a wonderful service for humanity, a true monument of generosity and charity.
When I discovered for the first time some of your posted files while hopping through different pages of PF, I stayed "scotched" to the screen for half a day without once standing up ! this was a kind of a "Gold fever". Unique action: you will be thanked by this and by the coming generations. THANKS.

Let's begin with a very fine example from the huge bulk of piano sonatas by soviet composers:

Yuri EGIKOV
Egikov Sonata No.2.pdf
I leave it to my dear follow pianophilians to describe form and contents of this score!

P.S. all posted scores are my own scans.

Danke für die netten Worte!

Here we have most interesting recollections of
your person by American composer Otto Luening
(somebody posted his interesting Piano Preludes
in this forum - which definitely are showing your influence!):
