With „Au pays romande“ I used a Mac program and simply applied (twice) the filter„Lightness decrease“ which made it slightly too dark but much better readable than the original scan! (Compare my 2nd posting of Andrico's Sonatina).

Parag, thanks for the description of your procedure! Alas it won't do me much good as I'm a Mac user. I'm sure there is an equivalent procedure for Mac users out there somewhere.

Seems like they occasionally get to use the GOOD scanner, as in this case.

Thanks for the recent Bertelin uploads.
It's incredible that so much deserving music like this is just unknown or inexplicably neglected.
Some may already know that Bertelin also composed a few chamber works: a violin sonata, a cello sonata, a rondo for bassoon and piano and an orchestral work with 'piano conducteur' (I must confess to not knowing what this is...)
Might be worth investigating if someone has the money and inclination to source them...

Who knew a man of this caliber would be forgotten for so long? The same can be asked about many of the composers unearthed here on Pianophilia after decades of neglect. (The real goldmine, if you will, where these pieces exist seems to be the late 19th & early 20th centuries.)
