mballan wrote:Rudolf Willmers (1821-1878) Danish pianist and conductor. Originally sent by his parent, when aged 13, to Germany to study science but he instead he turned to music. Took lessons from Hummel for two years and then another year with Schneider. He became a concert pianist and toured successful in Germnay, Austria, France and Britain to much acclaim. In 1866 he settled in Vienna He wrote a number of brilliant piano solos: Six Etudes, Serenade erotique [for LH], Sehnsucht am Meere, Un Jour d'ete en Norvege, Deux Etudes de Concert, Sonata Heroique, Tarantella giocosa, La Sylphide, Trillerketten, Aus der Geisterwelt, Tremolo-Caprice and Allegro symphonique.

I have posted his Etude in double notes Op 28.

Dear anyone.

Do you have any further piano works by Willmers not already available at IMSLP?
I gather he wrote a transcendentally virtuosic fantasia on Meyerbeer's Le Prophète, but I can't find it anywhere.
Thanks.

Does anyone have scans of the later piano works of the
Norwegian composer Trygve Torjussen (1885-1977) please?
E.g. Norwegian Dances Op24 and In Italy Op37.
Biographical details and a full list of works would also be
interesting to see. Surprisingly, I can find no reference to
this Grieg-like composer in this thread.

Dear all,

can someone please point me in the direction of Niels Gade's third "album leaf"
from "Three album leaves", which is quite difficult to get hold of.
IMSLP only has the second one - if someone is interested in the first, I could post it.

Thank you in advance and best wishes,

Hi

Search for Gade here:

http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/mussmquery.html

Its actually no.22
(Use the TIFF pages at the bottom - they have better quality)

Two scores by Rudolf Willmers just found courtesy of the General Catalogue of Weimar Libaries.
I have left the format of the library's PDF, to show ownership.
No. 1_Freudvoll und leidvoll - Air de Reichardt pour la Main gauche seule.pdf
No. 1_LA POMPA DIE FESTA.pdf

Another score by Willmers just found online.

For some reason I can't reduce the file size, so I've had to split it into two large PDFs - apologies!

Un jour d'été en Norvège, Op. 27
Un jour dété en Norvege_Part1.pdf
