Thanks for the Barth sonata, Alfred. Clear textures and well articulated ideas throughout.

Thanks for your fine treatment to my scans, I was not at my usual institution so I as very limited on hardware. If you think it would help and not be too mich trouble, can you also treat the fifth sonata? I will search again for the fourth as my catalogue shows it is in stock but I may be mishelved as 4 5 and 6 hould have all been residing together in the same general spot...thanks again for your help

No worries. I believe you were right the first time in a way, I mean in the end we all cannot thank "alfor" enough! 8-)
Just glad I could track these down, though we are still missing half (or more) of his sonata output! Will keep looking....

Does anyone have scans of any piano works by the German
composer Gustav Cords (1870-1951) please?
Biographical details and a full list of works would also be
interesting to see. Surprisingly, I can find no reference to
him in the card index of Berlin State Library. This is the link
to the German Wiki page about him, and the limited list of
works given suggests that he was not an insignificant composer,
despite apparently being completely obscure now.

From the series

„Miniatury fortepianowe“

(please let me know whether you consider these rare and interesting enough to be posted - they might otherwise be deleted by the owner of this site!)

genuine alfor scans:

have been transferred to a special topic:

I do not know how "rare" the PWM edition is of these two pieces is, but they make a grand supplement to the Urtest editions I've been using all these years. For instance, the pedaling indications in the Arabesque have given me (slight) pause to reconsider my own playing of this piece, and suggests I've been over-pedaling here and there and that I could benefit from using the indicated fingering in a few places. These are things that a well-edited edition such as PWM can surprise and delight one with--a slightly different realization in performance even on pieces that are very well known to us.
