Re: Austrian Composers
Does any one have Herz's Variations on the march from Bellini's I puritani , Op. 82, I believe? Some help with this one would be great! Thanks!

Henri Herz in Mexico
Herz was the author of the music for the Mexican National Anthem; his composition did not win.

Re: Austrian Composers
Bought in York many years ago in a charity shop for a 5 pound note ( with three other bound volumes) tightly bound with lots of other interesting items. Hope this is what you want, freshly scanned a few minutes ago.musiclife217 wrote:Does any one have Herz's Variations on the march from Bellini's I puritani , Op. 82, I believe? Nice work old chap. Must have been a bargain for you to part with a fiver.
Anyone who gets the Paul van Kuik catalogue will note that there were several Herz for sale, but none anywhere near a fiver.

Re: Austrian Composers
I've been listening to some Eybler chamber music and find it rather refreshing and surprising that I have absolutely any scores of his piano music. Yes, he wrote a lot of choral and chamber music but there seems to be some piano music which to my knowledge hasn't surfaced at all. Anyone?

Does anyone have any scores by Karl Weigl? There is a piece for 2 pianos on imslp... but it would be nice to see some solo pieces, such as those recorded by Joe Banowetz on Naxos ...

(Don't know why this file - like many others - did not find its way into the PP archive!)

Dear Alfor
thanks for alerting me to this. I like the first piece especially ... and at the time I thought it strange that Weigl was not in your Raritaeten section ...

Re: Austrian Composers
Yes, that intrigued me, too, since I thought I had everything from your thread in the previous PP. It turns out, of course, that I didn'talfor wrote:(Don't know why this file - like many others - did not find its way into the PP archive!)

I've been able to identify the others (I think) and will start to upload those into the archive thread over the next few days.
