Re: Alfor's Rarities
Dani_area_51,
You should search Alfor's previous postings. He has posted dozens and dozens of incredibly rare Russian and Soviet scores. Not just single scores, but compilations as well. In fact there are only a few people on Pianophilia that can even come close to matching the generosity that Alfor has shown. Please allow this gentleman and good friend of ours the leeway he so deserves as to what he wants to post and when. There is already more Russian and Soviet material posted on this site than one could play with many months of work.

I know!! I agree with what you said and even more. And if you read the latests post, I'm one of the few that comment the most in this thread, but let me reinforce this statement :
"It's just for curiosity, because they are some kind of favourite of mine."
I know Alfor makes daily posts, and even more than what you said about months of work, I believe I can't even play everything I have until the end of my life!!!
Anyway, it's just different for me to know that there are even more russian rarities to come, than to know that category has ended and won't be more post of that kind. But I'm sorry if I was rude.
Best regards to Frank and Alfor

You are welcome, Dani_area_51! I can well understand that you are interested in russian/soviet scores! BTW, I know that you are living in P. - if P. happens to be Poland***, then you should be the one, who should post soviet scores!!

Re: Alfor's Rarities
The unknown piece is by Wilhelm Furtwangler (the conductor).
Also many thanks for the French Composer anthologies... La Zaide by Royer has got to be amongst my favourites. Saint Saens has edited it in your collection... attached is the original for comparison. I wonder why he would change "Tendrement" to "Modere" amongst other changes? This is definitely one piece I think I would not like to hear on a piano... I am also sharing a recording in case anyone is interested.
Regards,
Parag
