Alfor, thank you very much indeed for the Gedike scores. From the opus numbers, it seems there may be a lot to explore. It is nice to have these collections of short pieces, so pleasant to the ear of our younger pianists and of intermediate difficulty.

Schütt, Eduard (sic) -respecting the German Languaje-:

Born in St. Petersburg, October 22, 1856-1933.

He was a pupil in composition and pianoforte of Petersen and Stein at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, and continued his studies in Leipzig. Subsequently he was elected conductor of the Akademische Wagnerverein of Vienna. Schüt's published works include a comic opera, a pianofort concerto, a serenade for strings, variations for the piano, and songs.

Yevgeny Petrovich Makarov. Born 1912, Penza: died 1985. He graduated initially in 1939 from the chemistry department of the Moscow University, and then went on to study music with Gliere, Litinsky and Shostakovich at the Moscow Conservatoire. He graduated in 1947. He taught at the Institute of Military Conductors from 1944, and later joined the faculty of the Moscow Conservatoire. He also authored textbooks on band instrumentation and score-reading. His piano scores include:

 Piano Concertino (1939)
 Blyuz (1941)
 Two Dances (1945)
 Two Pieces (1946)
 Three Fragments from the ballet “Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish” Concert transcription for Two Pianos [Gogliba] (State Publ. 1959)
 Children’s Album
