Jim:

Thanks so much for Read'' score, very interesting and original, nice jazz harmonies.

Do you have information about his piano works?

Can I get some from a Music Company?

Particularly the Irish Folk Song LH arrangement, is quite difficult, i am surprised that it appears in APS series. Would easily need some children at grade 7-8 to play at such tempo.

Thank you for sharing these. However, I don't think they are necessarily sinister. More saar-donic, perhaps.

The Foster transcription makes me think of a line Groucho Marx says in Animal Crackers: "And now, Signor Revelli will play 'Come Where my Love Lies Dreaming,' with a male chorus."

Here are two more APS scans--A simple one-page piece from Theodor Oesten's Maiblümchen (a nice scan of which exists on IMSLP) and Charles Wakefield Cadman's Springtime which I've not found elsewhere. The Cadman seems to have been published exclusively by APS and the MS exists in the NYPL.

These are the last four of the APS editions that I found. Scans of the Raff and Wagner-Brassin are available elsewhere but without the editorial/educational content. This series represents an interesting pedagogical philosophy--thanks to Oberon Smith for sparking an interest in same. Any additions are certainly welcome.
