Thank you both for the additonal Vigdorovich............forgot some of these may be held by the Polish National Library especially for the publisher, Idzikowski. Greatly appreciated.

Did any one have sheet music of L.M.Wigdorowitch (Л. М. Вигдорович) I already have his waltz op.50 ,waltz op.5 ,serenade op.7 and hungarian song op.56. Only information I know about him is he was a russian composer during 19th century .
thanks
Vigdorovich was an Ukrainian salon composer, who was born and died in Kyiv (alas I have no dates but clearly around 1890-1910).

I found a Ukrainian catalog with the following information: Vigdorovich, Lev (Leiba, Leon) Moiseovich (187- – 192-) – composer, violinist and violinist piano. Having started with the world-famous violinist and teacher Otakar Shevchik at Kievsky music school in 1886–90/91. Having written important salon music (65 opuses) for piano, violin and piano (div. advertising brochures for music publications). Yogo was called the meter of salon music. Living near Kiev at the address: Bohdan Khmelnitsky Square, 5

(No music in this 527pp file)

Catalog works not in Malcolm's list above:

Op.11 Romance: [for Skt(?) or cello with fp.]
Op.39 Joy: March on the occasion of the birth of His Imperial Highness the Sovereign heir Alexei Nikolaevich
Op.41 Elegy In memory of the untimely deceased fearless fighter, Vice Admiral Stepan Osipovich Makarov (1904)
Op.69 Funeral march in memory of G. V. Plekhanov
Op.83 In that wonderful hour: Romance: for singing. Music by L. M. Vigdorovich; Words by Joseph Shalman.

Quite amazing - many thanks Bingo and Crow for all the additonal information - duly added to my 'book'.

Very grateful to you both.

Interesting that the opuses go up to at least 83, more than listed in the biographical notes (suggests 65 opuses).

Medtner - Collected works

Post by simonme20 »

Hello,

I am not sure if this is the correct place to ask or not. Does anybody have any information about where it might be possible to purchase volumes from the Medtner collected works series in 12 volumes? I have managed to acquire a few volumes from various places (vols. 2, 4, 7, 8 & 9). They are extremely difficult to come by!

Kind regards

Simon

Have you tried Ruslania? Even if the store doesn't list a title on the website, the staff are quite helpful.

Also: are you interested in original edition prints, reprints or digital versions?

For reference: the volume contents listing: https://nikolaimedtner.ru/scores/

Thank you for your reply. I will try Ruslania. I am interested in original prints. Whilst they stock new scores, they may have some useful info.

Kind regards
