I would like to request to PP members their recommendation of 4 or 5 “non traditional”, relevant and useful piano solo compositions for all the levels; so the piano students would have a different alternative in learning piano.

Any idea will be much appreciated.

Get them to compose their own pieces.

My personal favorites, which I play and listen to all the time are the Pleiades Dances of Takashi Yoshimatsu. Wonderfully lyrical, excellent for rhythm, and not too difficult. There are nine books with seven pieces each.

Thank you for your interest and the excellent alternatives.

Composition is the best way to express ideas, no matter the quality; it is like learn to walk!

Regarding the methods, I will take a look on them.

Sometimes the learning methods are too boring and disappoint young students (children) to continue, so if I can provide the some extra motivation, would be much better.
