Thank you so much for this INCREDIBLE influx of scores by the genius Blanchet! I'm really exicted by the Preludes, but everything looks to be at his highest-of-the-high standard of piano writing. Just superb! Thanks a million.
All Best,
Frank
I couldn't agree more. Blanchet represents some of the very best piano writing I have ever seen and his pieces all seem quite full of unique ideas that I've never seen before, especially in regard to rhythm.
This set of preludes would make a great performance group. I spend a lot of time playing Blanchet and find his music very rewarding.
My thanks to Roncesvalles, Parag, and Malcolm. This is a great find.

Seconded!
Interesting that most of Blanchet's piano works are "Etudes" in one or the other way.
BTW B. was a well-known teacher, but I've never heard of any of his pupils!

Alfor, yes indeed, a large portion of B's output are Etudes. I would have enjoyed being a student of B's, what with the interesting and intricate problems he posed for his students with these pieces. And you would think that his students would have popularized his works too, so that in our time his work would have been well known, but alas, his Etudes may have been too daunting for that particular time and place for many.
