And now we have the 2nd Rapsodia of Gonzales! This does appear to be the best of the 3, IMHO, anyway. Here he is much more adventurous in his harmonies than in the other pieces where he will often go on for pages with nary a single accidental. I notice a fascination with writing many passages in a single clef which suggests the composer was very intent on moving interest from one register to the other. These three Rapsodia's are very well named and seem to present an almost endless variety of thematic material, and their rather harmonic blandness aside, still provide a great deal of interest.

Greatly enjoying these pieces, Alfred. Thanks for posting.

Alfred, I hope everyone is enjoying the Gonzales pieces you have posted as much as I am and am glad you were able to find nearly all the rhapsodies. I tend to gravitate toward larger pieces so have had much fun with them. With the "albums de Luanco"we have, not unexpectedly, the shorter character pieces.

Thank you for posting all this interesting stuff, Alfred.

You are welcome, dear fleubis!

Then you may like this cleanly crafted „Goono“ Fantasy of medium difficulty:

Alfor, you have a real winner here with the Gonzales Op.15 Fantasia. This is a very substantial piece with seemingly endless melodic figurations and variations. The beautifully ornamented passages starting on p.15 are quite captivating. The whole piece is well written and fits nicely under the hand - as do his other compositions. By the way, this piece like his rhapsodies appear through-composed, but later detailed analysis may prove otherwise.

I think this piece takes one on quite an enjoyable journey. (But medium difficulty? :D )

A great post, dear Alfred.
