Does anyone know of the keyboard sonatas of Manuel Espona (1714-1779)? I ran into a Brilliant Classics album of this Catalan composer, and I was quite taken by some of the sonatas.
Hi, Stephan, I will take a look of that sonatas from Espona, thanks. Other Spanish composers of that century you may be interested in: Blasco de Nebra, Sebastián Albero and Joaquín Montero. They wrote nice sonatas for forte-piano.

... only the Nos 61-68 ... (nms)
Soler Klaviersonaten Nr 61-68 (ed. Rubio).pdf
Best regards
Paul
That's exactly it!
Thanks, Paul!
Now I need "only" Sonatas 1-40.
Hi all,
Any development on this?
I'm still looking for Soler's Sonatas 1-40 (ed. Rubio).
Thanks.

Hello Philm93
I have replied to your personal message re. Silva. I also have tons of Costa's works - was there anything you wanted specifically ? Reply to my email address:

Hi all
I do have some manuscrpts of Luiz Costa works that i found.
They are not bad readable but i'd be really happy to share them, if somebody would transcribe them to normal sheet music. I unfortunately do not have the program to do that.
It s telas campesinas, dancas rusticas and a few non opus.
I'd be happy to have some help there.
Please leave a pm if you'd be interested.
Regards
Phil

I'm happy to look at them and transcribe. I use musescore, which is free.

Working with Philippe, I have re-engraved the following works of Luiz Costa:
* Bucólicas (1-3)
* Figurinhas de Porcelana (Porcelain Figurines)
* Malhadores na eira (Farmhands threshing grain)
* Manhã na floresta (Morning in the forest)
* Tres Romances
* Op.6 Telas Campesinas (1-4)
* Op.13 Cenarios (1,2,4 - 3 was missing from manuscripts)
* Op.17 Danças rústicas (originally assigned Op.14)
As Philippe and others who have seen the manuscripts will attest, many are very hard to decipher - Costa was a bit loose with his hand in notating chords. Some manuscripts have been re-written more cleanly by another hand. I had no prior familiarity with Costa's idiom so it's very much best guess. However after having completed ~60pp and seen where his clearer repeated measures match my guess at the first sighting of them, have some confidence that they're a fairly good start.
I'm not posting them here as they'll appear quickly on youknowwho dot com where a number of my re-engravings have already lined their pockets.

Thank you so much for this wonderful work!
Do you need the Op.13 no.3 manuscript? I can send it to you.
Thanks.
