Dear Alfred, Am greatly enjoying the Rameau-Huber....nice arrangements and I especially like the realization of the ornaments--I'm certainly not up to speed on French Baroque ornamentation and probably will never find the time.

I would say that Ravel simulation is an abomination, better left in the dustbin.

I certainly agree...but it nevertheless is amazing that he achieves about 90% of the original sound!
He also did Gaspard...in that case I think I can do without it!

OH please let me see the Gaspard.
That is an impossible piece.... I wonder what can scarbo be reduced into.....

There is an audio clip........ I listen for 2 minutes..... no I don't want to see the score anymore.

This man murdered Ravel.

While I have no quarrel with some simplified versions of the classics for beginning pianists to get their fingers into some famous themes, but this kind of re-writing is beyond the pale. You don't rewrite Ravel's masterpieces. Difficult? Definitely, but we all know how you get to Carnegie Hall, etc...

Wenn es Dir Vergnügen bereitet:
Bomiers Fassung der Valses nobles ist ebenfalls komplett als Preview einzusehen  ...

Admittedly I prefer the other way round: i.e. „Godowskyfying“ or „Sorabjifying“...

P.S. Bomiers recording of Scarbo is simply a midi-version. As I could
detect from the first minutes it is a very slow version of the original score.
