Re: Piano Transcriptions for two hands
The Purcell tune is my favourite song of all time. Very hard to display on the piano.
But Siloti's version is much more pianistic than the usual versions of this song.
Thank you very much for this find, Emil!
Greetings, kroket

Re: Piano Transcriptions for two hands
Thanks Sernov for the Siloti version of Triana. Never know that this exists. It's a cleaned up (pianistic-up) and abridged version of the original. Not really a concert transcription like the Godowsky version. But it's nice to see this. People really like to do something with Albeniz's dense writings, like Lipatti's and Rubinstein's treatments on Navarra. I really want to see Lipatti's (and I think Rubinstein wouldn't write his down).

Thank you for rare Siloti transcriptions.
These are not included in the extensive „Alexander Siloti collection“
recently published by Carl Fischer.

Two other transcriptions by Jules Rochard.
The Irish emigrant by George Barker (1812-1876), and another version of the infamous Home sweet home by Henry Rowley Bishop (1786-1855).
Published by Edwin Ashdown, London, n.d. (~1860-80).
Thanks for all the gems posted here in the last weeks.

Indeed, these certainly are rare. As usual, Siloti's transcriptions are almost invisible. Here Triana is not simplifed, but greatly clarified. (I am still somewhat of two minds about Godowsky's concert transcription.alfor wrote:Thank you for rare Siloti transcriptions.

You can have too much wine, work or money (?), but you can't have too much Mozart.
Here are some transcriptions from the old Breitkopf albums Unsere Meister. Greetings,
