Re: Russian & Soviet Composers (Misc)
Thank you Frank and Peter - realised as I scanned Sternberg's 4th etude that I had just reached my thousandth scan on Pianophilia !!
Here's scan 1004......Gleb Pavlovich Taranov. Born 1904, Kyiv: died 1989. Ukrainian composer, conductor and teacher. Studied composition with Chernov and Gliere in St Petersburg. Also studied periodically at the Kyiv Conservatoire from 1902 – 1924, where his teachers included Blumenfeld, Liastoshinsky and Malko. He later taught at the conservatoire from 1925-41 and again from 1944-74. Noted as a composer of programmatic symphonic works. He also edited and orchestrated Arkas ‘s opera Katerina and was involved in the authentication of the Ovsyaniko-Kulikovsky’ symphony in G minor, which had been allegedly composed in 1809, making it the earliest Russian symphony [later proved to be a hoax and composed by Goldstein].
I have posted three etudes [No. 1 Chromatic taken from Op 24, No. 2 In Sevenths from Op 9 and No. 3 In Fourths also from Op 9]. Alfed previous posted Two Preludes Op 2 by this composer [included for anyone who missed that posting].

Re: Russian & Soviet Composers (Misc)
Boris Aleksandrovich Tchaikovsky. Born 1925, Moscow: died 1996. Graduated 1949 from the Moscow Conservatoire where he had studied with Myaskovsky, Shebalin and Shostakovich. Mainly noted as a composer in symphonic and chamber-instrumental genes.
Interesting and informative website by the Boris Tchaikovsky Society at: http://www.boris-tchaikovsky.com [includes work list].
I was initially concerned at posting these works bearing in mind the recent resurgence of interest in Boris Tchaikovsky. However, I have checked across numerous European publishers and it appears these have not been re-printed since this Soviet Composer edition. All of these works were some of the earliest compositions by the composer, the majority from the 1930’s & 40’s.

Re: Russian & Soviet Composers (Misc)
As it turns out the bulk of the Goldenveizer was included in my "book" in the Information section - I was missing just four pieces, two of which were arrangements from orchestral scores......a revised list of Goldenveizer piano works attached .soh choon wee wrote:I sincerely request an english translation ??? I have an forever quest for Goldenweiser's edition of Beethoven's 32.

I have a fair number of Goldenveizer scores currently on their way to me from St Petersburg...which will be duly shared here on Pianophilia eventually.

Re: Russian & Soviet Composers (Misc)
Arthur Lourie (1892-1966). Lourie has been reasonably well covered on Pianophilia, which is especially welcomed in light of the difficulty in locating some of his scores.
Here is a great rarity, with special thanks to Duirton who did all the hard work tracking this down - Op 10 Quatre Poemes.
