IMSLP only has the first half of the first volume--here's the second half (nms):soh choon wee wrote:The IMSLP Czerny -The School of Fugue Playing (Op 400) unfortunately is incomplete. It contains only the first six. Even the file name indicated so, 1-12 part 1.

I see--12 preludes + 12 fugues = 24 studies. Thanks for the info--good to know we have a complete set.Caprotti wrote:op.400 is formed by 12 p&f anyway , not 18

Re: Collecting Carl Czerny
Thank you so much for posting the second half of the collection, Jim. I was also under the impression that there were 24 Preludes + Fugues, but I'm happy enough with half that number also

Now we need to find the Op.856 "The Pianist in the Classical Style" (24 Preludes and Fugues). I've no leads on that one, although one of the preludes is circulating in a recently typeset file.

Re: Collecting Carl Czerny
so this seems to be an oldy (not the newly released/reprinted ones)
well it's not the whole "often looked for" Op 368, but at least it's something. finally came across one of them, fresh scan. dont know much about this 'series' or publication, looks like they were into reprinting old/hard to find stuff, have never seen them before, and could only find just this one.
