I particularly thought the idea of a concerto like work of the trio for piano and orchestra would be super interesting!

sorry, didn't want to bog the thread down with lots of short "thanks" and "ok." type individual responses but felt at least a single expression of gratitude was in order. for here and generally on the forum site as a whole. :)
If Chopin's Cello Sonata can be turned into a piano concerto
(well, it's not really a proper one) Tchaikovsky's Piano Trio
should be easy to convert!

Returning to piano solo arrangements, and disregarding
individual movements, I'm struggling to think of any
examples at all of piano versions of piano trios, other
than Beethoven's Op1 and Schumann's Op88 (which isn't
even called a piano trio). Are there any others? There
must be. The existence of only 3 complete official piano
trios in 2H is hard to believe.

Ah yes, I'd already thought about that, but discounted it,
rightly or wrongly, on the grounds that it was originally
scored for piano, clarinet, and cello, rather than for a
normal piano trio.

The Andante and Scherzo, yes indeed, but what about the
complete work - where can that be found in 2H form?

At present, my mental list of complete piano trios, originally
composed as piano trios, actually entitled 'Piano Trio', and
subsequently arranged for piano solo, still stands at just 3.

Hi All,

I am looking for Geminiani's harpsichord arrangements of his violin sonatas published as "pieces de clavecin". Thanks.

I'm partial to Sullivan, so here's another partial transcription:

Thank you Sgambatiesque. Actually, I'm slightly puzzled by the
'attachment no longer available' line in the above quote. It seems to
download okay here, but if anyone does want it and has a problem,
it's also available on IMSLP. (Sometimes I post there also, to make
sure things don't end up there anyway via third parties.)

I had no problem downloading it but I've seen these little site hiccups before.

Also there's another scan of the Tours transcription in the site archive on the Hay thread - just search on Pinafore.
