In the above message asking for a Rossini scholar to help, it was Caprotti whom
I really had in mind. Thank you C for finding the answer to Parag's question.

Looking at the score, the theme starting at bar 6 of the Cavatina is clearly the
basis for the theme starting at bar 3 of the Trio of Chopin's Bb minor Polonaise.
I should have spotted it previously!

Btw, I think my scan of the entire work was put on the old PP.

Well, here it is. As a stickler for thread discipline, it is with a certain amount of
trepidation that I repost it here rather than in the transcriptions thread, but the
natural flow of the discussion makes it seem natural to do so.
(I feel a mod. edit coming on.....!)

Thanks Caprotti and Tim... I am listening to the Cavatina rather closely as I type... I could post the recording here if mods let me ;)

Best regards,
Parag

Was puzzled where to put this work...........as Chopin created the original seemed only right to include these arrangements here !!

I have no information regards A Jiranek.

Hi, everybody !

I have found the Mazurkas in the Cortot edition. It's in 3 volumes.

However, we have a problem. I can't open Volume 2. Acrobat says the file is damaged. Does anyone know how to repair a PDF file ?

Here all three volumes in a zip file :

Thanks in advance !
