Victor Bendix (1851 - 1926) Bendix was highly regarded as a composer, pianist and conductor. Although he followed the Danish Romantic tradition (he was a pupil of Gade and J.P.E. Hartmann), but also took an avid interest in the Late Romantic movement abroad. He studied with Liszt, whose ideas one can hear in his Piano Concerto, one of the most virtuoso concerto of Danish Romanticism. Bendix wrote four symphonies with an international orientation and they are among the best from the period between Gade and Carl Nielsen. Carl Nielsen in fact had great respect for Bendix, and dedicated his great Symphonic Suite for piano to him. Bendix was also a noted composer of many songs.

I have posted his engaging piano sonata [thank you Mr P].

They are indeed. Now that the Berwald collection is approaching completion (thanks Hobbypianist) we need another Scandinavian master to investigate.... (hint hint)
(PS The full score of the Third of Bendix's symphonies is available in PDF at the Royal Danish Library & IMSLP)

Ludvig Schytte (1848-1909), who we have covered previously in various postings. Here is his complete Op 26 Promenades Musicales [unfortunately as missing No. 7 but filled the gap from Walter Cosand's site...hence the two page 20's because page numbering was different].

Don't think Palmgren needs much introduction - here is the excellent Fantasie Op 6.

Thank you very much for the Hartmann! Would anyone have a scan of the Valkyrie ballet score? Maybe the piano 4 hand version? Maybe a small part of it?
