Here's another book of Oliver's songs arranged by Austin for piano solo.
They don't write 'em like that anymore, more's the pity!

Re: Piano Transcriptions for two hands
Has anyone ever transcribed the Rachmaninov Romance written for 6H at one piano as a piano solo? I couldn't find it at Opus Transcribisticum.
Here's a beautiful reording by the first three prizewinners at the 2007 QEC:

Anyone else think this is a really beautiful piece?

Re: Piano Transcriptions for two hands
Seconded, dear lebowl! I played "Valse et Romance" many times as secondo (similar size like the prima on YouTube) with my 6H trio - but in some kind of wooden style, miles away from (-> below) this wonderful public interpretation. The space on keys for the secondo is very narrow in the corresponding "Valse", in particular - a result of the fact that SR wrote these pieces for three very young ladies.

Not really on topic, but can anyone identify the piece at the beginning of this video?

No one at Piano World has been able to so far.
The Rach Romance I asked about is from the 2007 Queen Elizabeth Competition and this music no one can seem to identify is played at the beginning of all the individual performer videos for this competition and also for the 2009 QEC violin competition.

Franz Schubert, with all these erratic changes between minor and major - but what exactly?lebowl wrote:Not really on topic, but can anyone identify the piece at the beginning of this video?
