Thank you as ever for the postings and the missing Mayerl.

Please, Frank, speaking for myself there is really no need to rush in to tackling the Mayerl transcriptions and it wasn't my intention to "push" you into that in preference over your current plans.
Since you had stated a future intention to deal with Mayerl at some point in the future I was just hoping to assist in bringing the main works of Mayerl up to near completion thereby saving you scanning time in the future.

Personally, I'm thoroughly enjoying the postings you are currently embarked on and I wouldn't want to deflect you from continuing that project. In fact I'm sure all of us in this forum would encourage you to continue.

It seems unfair that you should be doing all the work, however - so I was thinking that if those of us who had outstanding Mayerl transcriptions or other works which haven't been previously posted could post them up contemporaneously with your current project, it would become clearer what is actually outstanding. That way, if you still wish to post up the Mayerl balance in the future (and I'm sure you have them all anyway - since your collection so far has proved astonishingly complete) the scanning burden should then be a little less daunting.

Whatever you post has already been fantastic and I'm sure will continue to be - my Mayerl postings were not intended to influence a change in your preferred schedule.

I post up here a text file of what Mayerl I think has already been posted in this forum (not including this page (66)). If my proposal commends itself to you Frank, then would-be posters of outstanding Mayerl works (transcriptions / arrangements) can easily see whether they have anything in their own collections to contribute. With luck your own Mayerl scans will become a far less daunting task.

This text file is in alphabetical (not chronological order).

If anyone is interested I have a similar file for ALL the postings on the forum (excluding audio files). Best Wishes,

Thanks for putting together a comprehensive list of all the Mayerl published on Pianophilia. This is the tool we needed to make sure we don't trip over each other and wind up duplicating postings. I have no problem at all posting all the Mayerl transcriptions, but of course any help from other collectors will help get the job done a lot faster. Certainly Billy Mayerl is one of the novelty pianists I most admire, and collecting these works is a fitting tribute to him. (Besides now I've pulled all the scores so it's an ideal time to scan).

I'm going to begin with a very large group of Mayerl transcriptions which were only published in his monthly "School Of Modern Syncopation" journals. It's a safe bet that few of these have been posted previously. Tobyjj, to whatever extent you can help me keep on track without duplicating postings I'd certainly appreciate it. I'll begin the postings tonight!

Forum protocol doesn't allow posting of text files so the previous file had to be rtf (Rich text format) - it should open in MS word or other text editors.

I've joined up my incomplete "100 Syncopated Breaks" with Frank's last 2 pages. and repost here as a complete file.
I haven't fixed the different page sizes; (I don't know how to do that), but I don't think it creates any problems in printing - not particularly noticeable anyway. Still, if anyone wants to "perfect" the file, feel free.

Mayerl School Club Magazine Transcriptions - A-Z - It's possible that alternate transcriptions were published in this magazine on some titles which were published singly (i.e. by Keith Prowse, etc.). For that reason on this particular group I think it might be best to post the whole lot of them, rather than lose a possible alternate transcription score. Some of these photocopied scores are quite old - apologies in advance for some faded pages here and there
