Leicestershire-born Charles Jennens (1770-1773), the man behind
Handel's Messiah and 4 other of his oratorios, is the subject of a
special exhibition starting today, and lasting 5 months, at the Handel
House Museum in London.

OMG, there was I, desperately using any excuse to plug my home
county, but making a right pig's ear of CJ's dates in the process!
Those dates should have read 1700-1773, of course.
Btw, thank you Jim and FW190 for the Borowski files - not a very
British-sounding name.

Two Capriccios by Frank Bridge in a Kalmus reprint. A scan of the second in the original Augener edition is currently circulating--I've not seen a scan of the first. Have a listen on Youtube to Kathryn Stott's excellent performances.
