Dear Alfor,

I wanted to thank you once again for introducing us to the wonderful and original Hugo Kaun. His music becomes increasingly endearing the more you play through it. Some of his works are a bit of a challenge, but generally all of them seem to fall under the hands quite well after some work. And they are all very, very worthy of the work and careful study to play them up to speed. He is a true forgotten hero of the piano literature, and we are incredibly fortunate for your discovery of this great composer, recognizing his genius and sharing with us all these impossibly rare scores of his!

Seconded. I had never heard of Kaun until I looked at these uploads, and am amazed that I could have overlooked such an accomplished composer of such attractive works (which have the added benefit of being out of copyright). I guess he never made much impact in the UK where I am. Thanks so much Alfor for your work.

Thanks for your daily upload, Alfor. Of these I like the 3 Stimmungen the best which contain nicely contrived ideas and the 3rd one is actually rather funny.

Of course, I must echo the sentiments regarding Kaun. How his publishers could fail to recognize and promote his works given today's hindsight, is quite unbelievable. Coming right in at the end of the Romantic period when so much pure crap was being written, that Kaun's outstanding music should go almost unnoticed is rather astonishing.

The good news is that there is much of Kaun's music to explore. And currently we even have available both his piano concertos, which are well worth looking at.

I am so grateful for Alfor's introduction to this wonderful music.

I have always wanted to see scores from these obscure composer.
On the other.. i apologize for being abusive . In any cases, i am only most helpful in recordings ><.
Thank you for helping me on the peiko case. I have wanted to see the score for a long time (piano sonata no.2). And this particular sonata has been recorded, with peiko at the piano.

Sorry, but that's all Kaun for the moment. I will try to get some of the missing works!

Yet another day with interesting pieces, Alfor for which I humbly thank you. All these pieces are very playable and I especially like the Oppel Ciacona which nicely follows the well established form. The buildup to the final variation is well conceived and executed and great fun to play.
