Obviously no.8 has William Vincent Wallace as his 'other half'.

That just leaves two to get, nos.3 and 9.

As clues, no.3's 'other half' (of whom I'm a big fan) begat another answer's
'other half', and no.9 was English, born 1814, and his 'other half' was his
godfather, also English, born in 1765.

All 10 solutions contain two names within those full names, which remind
me (and presumably others) of other less obscure composers.
Thanks for the clues Timtin, that made it very easy indeed, knowing your liking (which I fail to understand haha!) for Mozart,
No.3 was obvious it had to be Henry Wolfgang Amadeus Beale
and No. 9 could only be one of the Attwoods, Thomas Attwood Walmisley, oh how many of his chants have I sung in the not-so-distant past, I've even played some of his organ works.
nasty quiz, well done young man!

'Young man'?! Thank you Brian and Jo for joining me in the latest
game of musical anagrams. Please forgive the occasional boob
in the question setting - I guess that's just part of the package!
More nonsense coming soon, assuming I can think of an idea.

Here are 6 clues, in the form of anagrams, of famous composers and their nationalities.
Who are they, and what are their respective nationalities?

Here's an example clue:-
Mocks showiest crash (6,7,5) = Othmar Schoeck, Swiss.

1.Regarding swellhead (6,5,7)
2.Succeeder by handfuls (6,7,6)
3.Charmers bung ornament (6,8,6)
4.Demon carnal paranoiac (5,7,8)
5.SAS cannibalize a ship (5,7,7)
6.Harangue vast altruism (6,6,8).

Enjoy! (As always, not guaranteed to be error free.)

It was very enjoyable, but using well known composers made it fairly easy, except for Debussy, which for some reason took me about 10 minutes to crack.

Very good!
For no.3, look for more than one nationality.
Then you're nearly finished.

I'm a bit confused- I would have thought that 5 is Jean Sibelius, but there's no "Finnish" to be found in the remaining letters. Also for #3, is that arithmetic, i.e. whatever is the length of the last name, subtract that from 13 to get the nationality?
