Over to Tim for numbers 9 and 10 - mismatch between the number of letters in the clue and the number required in the answer!
Could "God rest ye merry, gentlemen" have been intended for number 9?

Oops - one or two slight hiccups, perhaps due to too much
Christmas spirit! Good job I included the disclaimer about
not being guaranteed error-free.

Anyway, all the answers are correct, so well done both.
No.10 should be (4,4,7,2,4), not as stated, because I made
a ding dong on high of spelling 'merrily' correctly.

The original version of this quiz had 12 questions, one
for each of the 12 days of Christmas, but I deleted the
other two, as they were a bit too over the top innuendo-wise!

More nonsense coming up (SQL errors permitting) in the
near future, so watch this space.

Despite the best efforts of the SQL errors and a snails-pace working board it has only taken me two days to upload the answer.

My hope is that the Proms organisers don't get too carried away with
BB next season. Somehow, I fear they will.

A few months ago in this thread, I posted a short passage of text
supposedly about Thomas Dunhill et. al. which contained a dozen
sequences of letters, which, had they stood alone as words, would
have been removed pdq! Nobody noticed, so the joke failed, and
after two weeks I decided to remove it. The exercise was in part
inspired by James May, erstwhile editor of one of the car mags,
in part by captured British troops in the last war writing home,
and in part by the name of the town where Dunhill died.

This quiz is very similar to the last one.....

Very similar indeed Tim, they all had the good sense to die in 1913 before they were called up for war work.
